Synopsis :
The Chatham Islands are a solitary archipelago situated to the south-east of and dependent upon New Zealand, the islanders’ strength lies in their sense of community. The first inhabitants, the Moriori, came from eastern Polynesia a thousand years ago with their language, arts and customs… Non-violent even in the face of invaders: A whole surprising past between sea and land.
